Guinness World Records Music Project — Archive Interview

Welcome to my interview archive.

In this interview, recorded during my Guinness World Records music project in 2021/22, I talk about my music, my creative work and the idea behind releasing an original digital single every week.

At the time, live performance had been severely restricted, so I decided to turn that difficult period into a positive creative challenge.

The 60-Week Music Project

Beginning in June 2021, I set out to release an original digital single every week.

Over the course of the project, I wrote and produced the music and released original material continuously for 60 consecutive weeks.

The project became much more than simply releasing songs. It gave me a way to keep creating, recording and connecting with people through music during a period when performing live was extremely difficult.

The project was subsequently submitted to Guinness World Records.

The Guinness World Records application records the record title as:

Most consecutive weeks to release an original digital single by a music act

The application records a measurement of 60 weeks, with the attempt/verification/discovery dated 26 May 2024, and identifies Scotty Connor — Ireland / United Kingdom as the record holder.

Looking Back

Looking back on the project, the 60-week challenge remains one of the most significant creative projects of my musical career.

It involved writing, recording, producing and releasing original music week after week, while continuing to develop as an independent musician and songwriter.

The experience also reinforced something that has always been important to me: when circumstances change, creativity can provide another way forward.
