My Gibson J-200 Artist — Twelve Years on the Road
First introduced in 1937 as the Gibson Super Jumbo, the legendary J-200 went on to become one of the most recognisable acoustic guitars in music history. Known as the King of the Flat-Tops, its unmistakable jumbo body, rich resonance and powerful projection made it a favourite of some of the world's greatest performers, including Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan and Pete Townshend. The J-200 Artist carries forward that remarkable musical heritage, and for the past twelve years it has been my guitar of choice at every single gig. From the intimate corners of Dublin's historic pubs to festival stages, theatres and corporate performances, it has travelled with me, carrying thousands of songs and countless memories along the way. Its warm, commanding sound has become part of my musical identity. Through the good times, the difficult nights and the unforgettable performances, this guitar has been my constant companion. It's more than an instrument — it's an old friend, a travelling partner, and part of the story of Scotty Connor.
